The LGBTQ+ Inclusion and Wellbeing Lab is based out of the Faculty of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University, located in Kitchener, Ontario. This land is the traditional and current territory of the Anishnaabe, Haudenosaunee, and Neutral Peoples. More precisely, this lab is located on the Haldimand Tract, land which was promised to the Haudenosaunee after the American War of Independence. When doing research work regarding gender and sexuality, we understand it is crucial to include and honour the traditional identities of Indigenous peoples. Cultural ideas of sexuality and gender are not exclusive to white societies, and our research strives to be representative of this.
This lab is led by Dr. Michael Woodford, and focuses on the social exclusion, inclusion, and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ individuals.
